Dickinson County Emergency Management has received a $1,000 grant from the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP), the members property and casualty coverage provider.
The ICAP Grant, a special initiative in celebration of the Pool's 30th Anniversary, provides up to $1,000 per member for the purchase of select loss control and/or risk management items. Such items include, but are not limited to:
- Approved playground surface materials;
- Exit signage;
- Automated External Defibrillators; and
- Fire extinguishers.
Dickinson County Emergency Management submitted an application for the grant in July, and was recently awarded $1,000 from the Pool and used the funds to purchase wireless weather stations with software. DCEM has received the grant twice before: In 2016 for the purchase of the agency's drone and then in 2017 for the purchase of the thermal camera for the drone. DCEM thanks ICAP for their generous donations over the years.
ICAP was formed in 1986 as a group self-insurance program for Iowa public entities. The memberowned Pool provides property and casualty coverage, risk-sharing facilities and risk-management services to its members. The Pool is acclaimed for its stable rates, superior coverages and class of service that is second-to-none. For additional information, please contact Kasi Koehler at 515-727-1585.
